Privacy Policy
On this page
This Privacy Policy describes how Center for Growth and Connection, a Professional Clinical Counselor Corporation ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and discloses information when you visit michellecantrell.com (the "Site") or contact us through it.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information.
1. Who we are
MichelleCantrell.com is primarily intended for Michelle Cantrell’s speaking, writing, educational, media, and other professional activities. It is separate from her clinical therapy practice.
The Site is operated by Center for Growth and Connection, a Professional Clinical Counselor Corporation, based in Pasadena, California. Privacy practices for therapy clients are handled separately under the Center for Growth and Connection's Notice of Privacy Practices.
Please do not submit medical, mental-health, diagnosis, treatment, or other confidential clinical information through this website’s general contact, speaking, press, newsletter, or booking forms. These forms are not intended for clinical communications or emergencies.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Form submissions: your name, email address, organization, phone number (optional), inquiry or event type, and message. Submissions are delivered by email to Michelle's team, and a copy is emailed to the address you provide.
- Update requests: if you select "Newsletter" as your inquiry type, we use your name and email address to respond to that request. We do not currently operate a separate newsletter sign-up system.
- Discovery calls: if you choose to book a call, you are taken to Calendly. The information you enter there is collected by Calendly under its own privacy policy and shared with Michelle's team for scheduling.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data: through Google Analytics 4, pages visited, time on page, referring site, browser, device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Server logs: our web host records technical data such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, to deliver and secure the Site.
- Accessibility preferences: if you use the Site's accessibility toolbar, your display settings may be stored in your browser so they persist between visits.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiry and send you a copy of your submission.
- Schedule and coordinate speaking engagements, workshops, press, and media opportunities.
- Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
- Operate and secure the Site, including preventing spam and abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies and tracking
When you first visit the Site, a privacy banner lets you choose a data access level (Private, Default, or Personalized) and which optional categories to allow: Functional, Analytics, and Advertising. Strictly necessary technologies are always on. Your choice is saved in your browser. To change it, clear your browser's site data for michellecantrell.com and the banner will appear again.
- Strictly necessary: WordPress and our web host may set technical cookies needed to deliver and secure the Site.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 sets cookies (such as _ga) to measure traffic and usage. It loads only after you accept with Analytics allowed, and it does not load when your browser sends a privacy signal (see Section 5). You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Browser storage: your privacy banner choice and any accessibility toolbar settings are stored in your browser so they persist between visits.
We do not use advertising or retargeting pixels, so the Advertising category is not currently in use. If we add advertising technologies in the future, we will update this policy before doing so.
5. Browser privacy signals
Your browser may offer privacy controls such as Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC). Where required by applicable law and supported by our website technology, we honor recognized privacy preference signals.
On this Site, when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, Google Analytics is not loaded.
6. Third-party services
These are the services currently used on the Site:
- SiteGround: web hosting and infrastructure.
- Google Analytics 4: traffic measurement.
- Google Fonts: delivers the Site's typefaces. Your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address.
- Email delivery: form submissions are sent by email through our hosting and email providers.
- Calendly: discovery-call scheduling, used only if you click through to book.
- Privacy banner and accessibility toolbar: on-site tools that run on our own server and store your preferences in your browser.
The Site also links to third-party websites, including Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Amazon, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and the publications where Michelle has been featured. These are links only; their content is not embedded on the Site, and their own privacy policies apply once you visit them.
We may disclose information if required to comply with applicable law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Michelle, her team, or the public.
7. Your rights and choices

8. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing requested services, maintaining business and legal records, resolving disputes, and complying with applicable legal obligations.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
